How To Download a Free Real Player
Without Buying Products or Losing Your Mind |
||||
| 1. Print this page on your
printer. Use it as a reference as you play. (As soon as you do
Step 2, this page will disappear, so please print it!)
2. Click on this link to Real.com.
3. Now the Real fun begins! See the big ads for
Real One Player! That costs $$. Scroll way down or way up the
page and find the free Real player. It may not be called Real
One anymore. Real.com changes their
home page all the time, but the principle is the same. Finding
the the free one is a little like
finding Waldo, it's carefully hidden, don't give up!
|
4. Deja vu all over again!
You're on a page where again they try to sell you the expensive one, and again
you scroll down to click on the free one. Now you've entered the
inner sanctum!
5. You fill out a form for which you'll need to know: A. Your operating system, eg. Windows 98 B. Your type of processor, eg. Pentium class system (400 MHZ Celeron & up is Pentium) C. The speed of your modem, eg. 56K or 28K etc. This is the part where the Genie asks his riddle, but you can answer it by looking at the bill for your computer or other description of the system. Note: If you have an older system, scroll to bottom of form and click to download an older version of Real Player. |
6. Now you must choose between
complete, standard, or minimal. Choose standard or minimal.
7. Click on S.F. Bay or Seattle, WA. if you live in the U.S.A. 8. A dialogue box "File Download" will appear. You want "Save this program to disk." Click OK. 9. Save in: Desktop. This is very important so you can set up the program once you've downloaded it. 10. Go back to your desktop, exiting all windows programs first. Click on the "Real" icon on your desktop to set up. Don't buy anything! Then return to RobertTheGuitarGuy.com.
